{Spring Cleaning- tips and tricks}

So, I told you about a month ago how I was itching to break out the apron and gloves and get my clean on… and well, a few weeks ago over a four day weekend, I did just that. For three. days. straight. I cleaned windows, I cleaned blinds, I cleaned bathrooms and bedrooms and every room in the house, I cleaned carpets and rugs and anything that would sit still long enough. Room by room, inch by inch I laid hands on every surface of our house.

It was downright therapeutic.

But before I cleaned, I prepped. I made lists {14 pages to be exact} for every room in our house. On my list was a “To clean” section and a “To Do” section where I listed repairs, replacements etc…Then as I cleaned, I was able to check my list to make sure I didn’t leave anything out. I also added to my original list as I found things that needed to be done. I typed up my lists and housed everything in a cute little notebook that I can pull out whenever I clean.  I’ll share those lists with you later this week.

I also spent a good bit of time reading through household hints and tips that I’ve been pinning on Pinterest for months {you can follow me here} I found some really amazing new uses for old products, as well as some great step by step tutorials for cleaning things that normally help you clean- like the dishwasher.

Here are some of my fave’s.

General Spring Cleaning Tips

I incorporated a ton of these tips and tricks into my own routine this year. I especially love

the homemade cleaners since I’m a pretty no frills kind of girl when it comes to cleaning. I’ve tried

using the “green” cleaners, but I always go back to bleach, vinegar and comet. Judge me if you

must, but it keeps our house spic n’ span and us {somewhat} germ free.

Which is really and truly all that I’m after.

Check out the links above and start making your own Spring Cleaning plan.

I’ll be sharing more tips with you tomorrow. <3
