{Women’s Expo}

If you’ve been wondering why this blog has been so eerily quiet lately, I’m about to show you.

It’s amazing how much time it takes to fill a 10x10 space.

But it was so much fun!

For the last two months we’ve been working feverishly to prepare for the Times News Women’s Expo in Kingsport, Tn (my hometown!).  To say its been a huge ordeal for a business my size would a total understatement, but I had a feeling it would be really worth it, and I was so right.

We were positively blessed with press while we were there, and even appeared in the newspaper on Friday! And to all of you who stopped by the booth during the show, thank you so much for your kind words. It made all that hard work so worthwhile.

I had planned to show you pics of the entire Expo, but it was so busy, I rarely had a chance to leave the booth! I was privileged to have my aunt help me build a beautiful store front on Thursday and my sweet brother toted actual furniture over for me to lend a homey feel to our space.

And I have to say, the results were stunning!

A special thanks to my helper, Mary, who has been cutting, pinning and ironing for weeks to prepare for the show, my aunt for helping with set-up, to my mom for babysitting all weekend long and to Traci, Sheila, Vicki and Joanna. You girls rock!

To prepare, I all but shutdown all un-necessary activities, and sorry to say, this blog made that list. But we’re back now and I look forward to sharing lots of holiday ideas, and Eeeekkkk! Homecoming preparations with you in the coming weeks. Thanks for sticking around ;-)

{so i finally told her to shut up- O My Family}

Ok, so I know this blog has been eerily quiet lately, and unfortunately its gonna stay that way for just a bit longer. I’ll share all the details soon- and photos too!

But I had to take a quick second to share this post.

Allison at O My Family writes about someone in her life who’s always putting her down and its something that so many of us can relate to. In fact, as I was reading it, I could just imagine myself sitting on the sink in our bathroom complaining, and the hubby there with his arms around me, trying to make it better. We are all guilty of allowing this in our life. Take a moment to visit her blog. And then leave her a little love.

And I’ll be back soon.

Allison writes….”I have someone in my life very close to me who always seems to be on the attack.

You aren’t a very good wife.

You should be nicer to your kids.

Those jeans don’t seem to fit that well.

How dare she? It’s not that I need things sugar coated, no, I do need honesty spoken into my life, but I need it to be presented in a constructive way. Perhaps with a plan or a gentle encouragement. This is not what she spits out at me. Hers are words of destruction, of cutting down, of malice, of judgment.” Click here to read on.
